Mountain View Lake House on Lake LBJ

Looking for a vacation lake house that
has a nice sandy beach for swimming?

Mountain View Lakehouse is located on open water on the popular Llano Arm of Lake LBJ in Kingsland, Texas.  It has a sandy beach, sandy lake bottom, and the water is shallow near the shore for great wading and swimming.  Both kids and adults love this shoreline of Lake LBJ.

Lake LBJ is a very pretty lake with beautiful homes along the shore and many coves to explore.  You can boat from this lake house up or down the Llano River, down Lake LBJ about 21 miles, and up the Colorado River several miles.  There is no shortage of boating fun on Lake LBJ.

You can fly in and land your plane at Kingsland Airport just a few blocks down the road from the lake house.  The grass airstrip is 3,200 feet long.  They have free tie-downs for your plane.  A hangar may be available on a daily basis.

Sandy Beach*

Mountain View Lakehouse is located on Llano Arm of Lake LBJ which is one of the largest normally constant level lakes in the country.  Constant level water provides the best conditions for boating, water-skiing, jet-skiing and swimming.  It has one of the rare sandy beaches that people love so much.

View of Packsaddle Mountain

Mountain View Lakehouse received its name because of the beautiful view of Packsaddle Mountain across the lake.  Packsaddle Mountain is well known for being the site of the last Indian battle in the area.

Packsaddle Mountain is also the starting point of the Paragliders and Hanggliders.  There is a ramp built just under the mountain ridge in plain view of the lake house porch.  It is always nice to watch them fly.

Across the water the vegetation is nice and  thick along the shore of the ranch across the lake.

The deeper water is farther out with the main channel of the Llano Arm near the shore on the other side of the lake.  Boating, water-skiing and jet-skiing can be done farther out.

Bring your boat or personal watercraft and anchor it in the shallow water near the shore.  If you don't have a boat or jet ski, they can be rented locally.

There are several boat launches in Kingsland.

When you walk out in the water at this location, you will enjoy the feel of sand under your feet and appreciate the shallow shore line.  It is great for   younger children who love to make sand castles and wade in the water.  The swimming is great in this area.

With beautiful, wide-open water ahead of you and gentle lake breezes, you will find watching the activity on the lake very relaxing.  Sit back, enjoy your favorite drink and let your cares roll away.  That is life at the lake.

Spacious, covered porch facing the water

The porch is a popular gathering place for watching the boating on the lake.  A stone-top table with 6 chairs, 2 swings and two lounges provide ample seating for your group to enjoy the view and the breeze.

The attractive faux stone-painted floor of the porch draws a lot of compliments from guests.

The home was designed to maximize the enjoyment of the lake.  There is a wall of windows that provides a beautiflu lake view from the living room, family room, dining room, kitchen and master bedroom.
