The Blanco River at Lonesome Dove

Lonesome Dove Vacation Home is available year-round and is perfect for special occasions such as family reunions, business meetings or retreats, religious retreats, small weddings, graduations, class reunions and romantic getaways. Enjoy the rustic setting as a hunting lodge or a fishing camp.

Lonesome Dove Vacation Home is located on an off-the-road wooded rise across the street from the Blanco River, just outside of downtown Wimberley. This newly renovated four bedroom, and four bathroom vacation home has its own access to the Blanco River.  

Visit over 100 antique shops, art galleries, craft, specialty shops and enjoy wine tasting at nearby vineyards. Wimberley is home to artists, authors, and a growing number of musicians from bluegrass to blues, from jazz to pop.

This beautifully lit outdoor gazebo, with fireplace and barbeque, helps make Lonesome Dove a very special  vacation rental.  The guests really love The Gazebo, and one couple was recently married in The Gazebo.

The Gazebo, with its wood burning fireplace, is a favorite gathering place for guests both day and night.  It is a great spot for visiting with friends and relatives and catching up on the latest news.

Living Room of Lonesome Dove

Lonesome Dove has 2 king-sized beds, 2 queen-sized beds, 3 trundle beds and a futon. 

Two bedrooms, each with queen-sized beds, have separate outside only private entries.  

All bedrooms have their own bathroom with either a tub, or a shower, or both.  Three bathrooms have claw foot tubs  Two bathrooms also have   separate showers, and one has a tub/shower combination.  The fourth  bathroom is ADA compliant. 

Lonesome Dove is handicapped accessible.

The open living area consists of a full kitchen with 2 sinks, one of which is on a lowered counter with room to put a wheelchair. Also in the living space is a large common area with cable TV, dining area and gas fireplace.

There is a gas fireplace in the living room, fireplaces in two bedrooms, and a fireplace in The Gazebo.

Things to do in the area:

• The popular Market Days in Wimberley are the first weekend of each month from March through December.
• Swim and fish in the Blanco River
• Swim at the Blue Hole or the Cypress Falls Swimming Hole on Cypress Creek
• View first run movies at the Corral Theatre every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
• For live theatre there are the Emily Ann Theatre and the Wimberley Players.
• Take a walk around Wimberley and enjoy Cypress Creek and other beautiful scenery.
• Shop at gift and art galleries and dine out in Wimberley
• Take a hike up Old Baldy
• View the glass demonstrations at Wimberley Glass Works
• Golf at Wookcreek Golf Course or play Disc Golf at Circle R Ranch
• Tour the local wineries and taste their wine
• The famous Salt Lick Barbeque is only about 20 minutes from Wimberley in Driftwood, Texas.
