The resort is in an attractive park-like setting on the waterfront where the Colorado River meets Lake LBJ. The Llano River also joins the lake within sight of El Rio Cottages. This is one of the best parts of Lake LBJ for boating, water-skiing and jet-skiing. The El Rio Lake Cottages are conveniently located in central Texas only a hour northwest of Austin, 90 minutes north of San Antonio, 3 1/2 hours south of Dallas/Ft. Worth and 4 hours west of Houston. Looking for lodging for a group of people?Rent one cottage, or rent more cottages for larger groups. They also have 3 lake houses only 2 minutes away that can accommodate even more people. You can fish from their concrete fishing pier or the shoreline. Or, you can go out with a local fishing guide and try to catch your limit. They sell bait and supplies at their Ship's Store. El Rio Lake Cottages are located at the Kingsland bridge on Hwy 1431 as you enter Kingsland from the southeast. The location is ideal for shopping and dining in Kingsland.
Want to rent a boat or a personal watercraft? El Rio also has three 22-ft. pontoon boats and Sea-Doos for rent. The pontoon boats are comfortable for cruising up and down the lake, allowing you to get up and walk around the boat.
From the cottages you can boat on up the Colorado Arm of Lake LBJ for several miles, and boat up the Llano River for several miles, and boat down Lake LBJ all the way to Horseshoe Bay over 18 miles away. There are a lot of coves to explore and beautiful lake houses to see along the way. This is a great location for boating all of Lake LBJ. With Lake LBJ being normally constant-level, you have ideal conditions for boating, water-skiing, jet-skiing, sailing, swimming and fishing. It is said that Lake LBJ is the largest constant-level lake in the United States.
You can tie up your boat and jet-skis at our docks and be out on the lake in just a couple of minutes. Gas is available at the boat docks. Need Bait? Check out their Ship's Store for bait and other fishing supplies. A laundry room is available for your convenience.
The four cottages are located so that each cottage has a lake view. Each cottage has a deck, BBQ/Smoker and picnic table. It is just a short walk to the convenience store from the cottages. The convenience store has an ATM machine, a large selection of snacks and drinks, and other supplies.
The cottages are kept in very good condition and are clean and attractive. Each cottage has two entrances, one in front and one in back. They all have TVs, central air conditioning and heat and ceiling fans.
The living rooms of the cottages have a sleeper sofa, love seat, chair and coffee table. They comfortably seat 6 people with seating for 2 more at the kitchen bar.
The modern kitchens have all the appliances and everything you need for making meals and snacks while you are on vacation. The only thing you need to bring is your food and drinks, or you can buy those at their convenience store. The dining tables in the cottages seat 6 people.
The first bedroom has a queen-sized bed, dresser and mirror, chair and night table.
The second bedroom has 2 double beds, a dresser and end table. Both bedrooms have nice sized closets. The cottages have a bathroom with a shower/tub combination. Amenities of El Rio Lake Cottages:
