El Lago Vista is on the Sabinal River in the popular Texas Hill Country in Utopia, Texas.  It has 7 1/2 beautiful acres shaded by large oaks, located adjacent to the Utopia Park and lake, and is only minutes from Garner State Park and Lost Maples State Park.

It is particulary beautiful in this part of the Texas Hill Country with its majestic mountains, the crystal clear water of the river, and the magnificent giant oak trees.

Utopia got its name in the late 1800's from its climate at an elevation of 1,350 feet.  Utopia and the surrounding area has a population of about 400 people.  Utopia is a little over an hour drive west of San Antonio.

El Lago Vista has a great swimming pool and hot tub and two large patios, one shaded by a giant oak tree.

The lodge has 4 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths.  Comfortable sleeping for eight people is provided by 3 king-sized beds and a queen-sized bed.

The pool house has sleeping for 6 addition people in 3 futon beds.

The Bunk House should be completed by the end of March.  This will add accommodations for sleeping an additional 6 people.

El Lago Vista name means "The Lake View"  and it was named for the view of the lake at Utopia Park next to the property. 

Feel free to stroll around their seven and a half acres and the adjacent Utopia Park and lake.  Walk along the Sabinal River while watching the wild life and enjoying the beautiful scenery.  This area is a deer and bird sanctuary.

You can take a short drive to Garner State Park and Lost Maples State Park to see more beautiful scenery of the area.

They are  on The Texas Hill Country Trail which is a trail used by bicyclers, motorcyclists and car clubs.

The Sabinal River is well known for its crystal clear water, perfect for swimming and fishing.  (During drought periods the water level is lower in the river.)

Nature abounds at El Lago Vista with Axis and White Tailed Deer, squirrels, rabbits, raccoons, and a large variety of birds.  You can watch the deer grazing at the river during the morning and evening.

Guests enjoy the patio under the giant oak during the day and in the evening.  At night the giant oaks are illuminated by the lights of the pool and the party lights from the outdoor patio and bar.

Fire Pit at El Lago Vista

A stereo which has outdoor speakers lets you enjoy your favorite music as you swim, cook out or sit by the fire pit.

El Lago Vista also has an outdoor built-in fireplace and a 36 inch steel wood burning BBQ pit with a 15 inch fire box for barbequing.

The Pool House at El Lago Vista

A favorite gathering place of guests is the Pool House.   It has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating for everyone.  The covered porch has a great view of the pool for watching over the children as they play in the pool.

The outdoor wet bar with a dishwasher is a favorite at the Pool House.

The Pool House has 3 futon sofa-beds for sleeping up to 6 people, and a large screen TV with satellite TV.

The bathroom at the Pool House has a shower.

Living Room of The Lodge at El Lago Vista

The spacious, living room has comfortable seating with a sofa, love seat, recliner and chairs.  A large screen TV with satellite TV is provided.

The extra large stone fireplace provides a focal point for the living room.  The high, arched ceiling adds to the spaciousness of the living room.

Game Room

The game room has a pool table.

Dining Room

The dining table has seating for 8 people.  There is seating for 4 more people at the bar stools in the game room and kitchen bar.

The modern kitchen has everything you need to prepare your meals and snacks while at El Lago Vista.  All you need to bring are your food and drinks.

There are four bedrooms at the lodge.  Three of the bedrooms have king-sized beds and one has a queen-sized bed. 

The master bedroom has a king-sized bed and a master bath with a tub/shower combination.

The second bathroom has a tub/shower combination.   The third bathroom at the Lodge is a half bath.
