As you first step into this 1898 cottage,
you will feel as if you have entered the yesteryear of Galveston with all it’s
Victorian splendor. The upstairs has been decorated to reflect this era with
attention given to total at-home comfort.
Cottage by the Sea vacation house is located on 19th street in Galveston, Texas, only 3
blocks from the public beach.
Galveston Island offers many tourist attractions including 32 miles of Gulf Coast
beaches, Moody Gardens, museums, Schlitterbahn, fishing piers, historic homes, cruises,
fishing tours, The Colonel sternwheeler, IMAX 3D six story theater, Seawolf Park, the
Grand Opera House (one of the oldest in Texas), Duck Tours, and much more.
There are several activities and events throughout the year. At the Dickens on the Strand the participants dress in Victorian Dickens
attire complete with a parade.
All of Galveston loves a parade and they
have many throughout the year including the biggest one, Mardi Gras. The
cottage is just 3 blocks (excellent spot) from the Mardi Gras parade route for the first
week-end, and the children’s parade and Krewe of Barkus (animals) parade the 2nd week
of Mardi Gras.
The Cottage by the Sea keeps a list of attractions and events for their
guests.
Living Room
The living room is decorated in Victorian decor and furniture with a sofa
and two chairs.
Downstairs Family Room
The downstairs of the cottage
has been converted to reflect a tropical beach cottage with 2 full size futons with comfy 8” mattresses. The TV has cable TV and a DVD player. This room
can sleep 4 people.
A small
office/computer room with Internet access is located downstairs.
The downstairs bathroom has a large shower with a seat.
A utility room
with a washer and dryer for your convenience is provided.
Dining Room
The exta large dining table seats 8 people.

Kitchen
The kitchen has modern appliances and everything is supplied that you need
to prepare your meals and snacks while vacationing in Galveston. All you need to
bring are your food and drinks.
Master Bedroom
The master bedroom has a queen-sized
bed, TV with cable TV, an armoire and chest of drawers.
At the end of the day, you can soak in
the elegant red clawfoot tub in a bathroom befitting royalty.
Second Bedroom
The second bedroom has a
full-sized bed.
The mattresses in both bedrooms are the plushest of
mattresses and are very comfortable.
Being only 3 blocks from the beach, you
can relax and let the sound of the waves lull you to sleep at night.
The island always has plenty
of activities from Schlitterbahn Water Park, Moody Gardens Pyramids and Palm Beach, all
located off 81st street straight down the Seawall.
A trolley stop is just 3
blocks down on the seawall to take you to the downtown strand area. (temporarily out due
to Ike), but the bus routes, and the pink tourist train are running. The Duck tours
take you both on a street by street of historical areas as well as in the water at Offatts
Bayou. Dinner cruises on the Colonel Paddlewheel are also available on Offatts.

Just wanted to let you know my reunion with high school girlfriends
this weekend was PERFECT! Your house was everything shown in these pictures and
more. The bath towels are so nice - no discount hotel quality. It is a
wonderful place for a small group to gather. Would definitely come back again. -

$149 per night for up to 4

$15 per night, per person for extra persons over 4 people

There is a one time cleaning fee of $85
