Fun on Lake LBJ!

Come join the fun on Lake LBJ at Bluebonnet Lake House in Granite Shoals, Texas!  The Bluebonnet Lake House earns its name in the spring when thousands of sweet smelling Bluebonnets cover the front yard.

This unique, split-level lake house sleeps up to nine people in beds, and can sleep more with sleeping bags and air mattresses.  It has a covered boat dock with an electric lift, a waterfront deck, 2 waterfront patios,and a large patio with water views. A paddle boat is provided for your use.

The lake house is located on a channel of Lake LBJ, just minutes from the main body of the lake.  Bring your boat, jet skis, and fishing poles, and let the fun begin!

Bluebonnet Lake House is located about an hour's drive northwest of Austin, 90 minutes north of San Antonio, 3 1/2 hours south of Dallas/Ft. Worth and 4 hours west of Houston, Texas.

Upstairs Deck over the Water

The upstairs deck has room to relax and offers a view of the water.   A large umbrella provides shade for the deck.  The deck can be lighted at night. 

Drop a line over the side and catch your dinner from the channel.


20 x 16 ft Brick Patio near the Water

Another favorite gathering place is on the spacious brick patio near the water.  A hugh tree provides a canopy of shade over the patio.  This is a great spot for barbequing and outdoor dining.


Swing on a Waterfront Covered Patio

Grab a seat on the cozy swing and enjoy a front row seat at the water's edge.  The lake house has another covered waterfront patio on the other side of the boat dock.  There is plenty of room for everyone to have a seat at the water's edge.  

Fishing is great from either patio.  Some of the best fishing on the lake is right here at these patios.  People rave about the fishing here.

Granite Shoals has several waterfront community parks, but probably the best park is in the neighborhood of the Bluebonnet Lake House.  The park has a boat launch, boat dock, 2 large fishing docks, 6 waterfront picnic tables (2 are covered), large children's playscape, swings, merry-go-round, and clean, modern restrooms.  The park is on a penninsula and has over 700 feet of waterfont.  It is a very beautiful park.  The park is a great place for family picnics, fishing and launching your boat.

Upstairs Living Room

  

The upstairs living room is light and bright with windows on three sides.    Each of the windows offers a view of the water.  The room leads to the upstairs deck over the water. 

Extra sleeping for 2 people is provided by the queen-sized sofa bed.   The cable TV and DVD player are in the entertainment cabinet along with many board games.

A full bath off the living room has a tub and shower.

Guests enjoy the whimsical fishing motifs and artwork thouughout the house that reflects life on the lake.

The downstairs family room sleeps two people on the queen-sized sofa bed.   Kids and adults can enjoy the foosball game in this room

A second bathroom with tub and shower is off the hallway to this room.


Dining Room

The dining table seats four people.  The door from the dining room leads to the spacious, shaded brick patio.


   Galley Style Kitchen

The galley kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans, small appliances and everything you need to fix your meals and snacks while vacationing at the lake.  A dishwasher and microwave are included.  All you need to bring are your food and drinks.

  
First Bedroom

The first bedroom has a beautifully carved antique bed.  It also has an antique dresser and vanity.  A toddler's bed and rocker are located in the corner of this bedroom.

Second Bedroom

The second bedroom sleeps three in the bunkbed with a double bed below and a single bed above. 

Both bedrooms have Berber carpeting and ceiling fans.

  • Visit 3 more lakes just a few minutes away
  • Visit art galleries and museums in neighboring towns
  • Tour local wineries and sample their wine tasting
  • Go out with a local fishing guide
  • Visit President Johnson's boyhood home in Johnson City
  • Pick strawberries, blueberries and other vegetables in season at the Sweet Berry Farm.   Try some of their homemade ice cream. Kids, try your luck in a Texas-size maze.
  • Kids can float down the Kingsland granite rapids and play in the sand at the beach at the Slab.
  • Visit the Water Park at Lake LBJ Yacht Club and Marina east of Horseshoe Bay.
  • Play golf at one of the several local golf courses.
  • Catch the latest movies at the Driftwood Theater Cinema 8 in Marble Falls
  • Play miniature golf and other games at Rockhopper's in Marble Falls

$15 per night, per person for extra persons over 6 people

Holiday Weekends - $275 per night

There is a one time cleaning fee of $85 per stay.
